King Farish is a self-taught artist. He started with black and white street photography in Chicago in 2000. Over the next few years he shot in cities such as Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, London and New York.

 

King moved to Brooklyn in 2005 and had his first studio in Red Hook. Over the following years Brooklyn was the base for stints in Vermont, Amsterdam, London, and Chicago before moving to Los Angeles in 2013.

 

King attended Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting in 2011 and received a full fellowship to Vermont Studio Center for a summer session in 2013.

 

King moved to Barcelona in 2015 and co-founded the Wool Factory A.I.R. with Gina Farish. International artists were invited to live and work in Barcelona for a month residency. In 2019, King returned to Los Angeles with his family where he currently lives and works.
